Gwinnett Federal Credit Union Review
The website offers a full-range of services including online banking. Aside from the pea-green color scheme, information is fairly easy to navigate. Purchase and mortgage refinance loans are available through Credit Union Financial Services. CUFS is a separate company owned by five Georgia credit unions.
Home loans are available to members of Excel Federal Credit Union, GEMC Federal Credit Union, Gwinnett Federal Credit Union, Members First Credit Union and Pinnacle Credit Union.
Purchase and refinance rates are published on the Credit Union Financial Services website at www.cufs.org. They offer FHA loans in addition to conventional (conforming) fixed and Adjustable Rate Mortgage (ARM) loans.
Fixed rate term lengths vary from 10 to 30 years and there are 5/5 Adjustable Rate Mortgages as well as FHA home loans. Interest rates published were slightly higher than I’ve seen from others including Navy Federal Credit Union. The Annual Percentage Rate was published next to the mortgage rates; however, I was unable to find a fee disclosure on the website.
(Very bad for a credit union)

The best credit unions reviewed here offer full disclosure of all fees including a zero or low-cost loan origination fee. I’ve seen mortgage loan origination fees as low as .25 percent. Remember that the fees you pay when buying your home or mortgage refinancing make or break the deal you’re getting. The more you pay at closing the less benefit you’re getting from today’s low mortgage rates.
